Railroad work prompts 4 street closures in Goose Creek

GOOSE CREEK (WCSC) - CSX crews will close four Goose Creek roads, starting Tuesday, in order to repair and repave railroad along Highway 52.

The closures will occur on Liberty Hall Road, Hollywood Drive, Stephanie Drive, and Brandywine Boulevard each day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  CSX did not give a timetable on when the work will be completed.

Message boards along Highway 52 will provide information to motorists.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting Public Safety Checkpoints, as well as aggressive traffic patrols,  throughout Berkeley County during the this holiday season.

The H.E.A.T. (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) team will be aggressively patrolling for alcohol or drug-impaired drivers during this historically dangerous time to be on the roadways.

Tonight, they’ll set up at the corner of Myers Road and Edgebrook Drive at 8 p.m.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting Public Safety Checkpoints, as well as aggressive traffic patrols,  throughout Berkeley County during the this holiday season.

The H.E.A.T. (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) team will be aggressively patrolling for alcohol or drug-impaired drivers during this historically dangerous time to be on the roadways.

Tonight, deputies will set up at the the corner of Black Oak Drive and Highway 52 in Bonneau at 8 p.m.  Then they’ll set up at Old Mill Road and Russellville Road at 11 p.m. Later at 1 a.m., they’ll be aggressively patrolling Highway 52 from St. Stephens to Moncks Corner.

Tonight, deputies will set up at the corner of Clements Ferry Road and St. Thomas Island Road at 8 p.m. and at the corner of Highway 41 and Highway 402 at 11 p.m.  They’ll also set up at the corner of Highway 401 and Highway 17-A at 2 a.m. and will aggressively patrol Highway 52 from Moncks Corner to Goose Creek starting at 3 a.m.
